What is Tooth Removal?

Tooth Removal consists of extracting irreperably damaged or decayed teeth.

Your dentist will make every effort to restore the tooth before considering tooth extraction.

There are several reasons you may need a tooth to be removed:

  • Tooth Decay
  • Gum Disease
  • Irreperable Damage
  • Crowded Teeth
  • When there's not enough space to accomodate for all your teeth

  • An Abscess
  • An abscess is a collection of pus

  • Wisdom Teeth

What to Expect?

You should expect your dentist to do the following:

  • Ask you about your medical history
  • Ask you about your dental history
  • Ask you about any pain or discomfort you have been experiencing
  • Advise the best course of action
  • If necessary, carry out the tooth removal under local anaesthetic

Will it hurt?

You should not feel pain during the procedure but you may feel some pressure.

What to do after Tooth Removal?

  • For the first 24 hours, avoid hot food and drinks
